memory Care

Laurel View Village joined the fight against Alzheimer’s by hosting a Purple Sock Hop on June 21, 2023. We had a great time raising funds for The National Alzheimer’s Association and Laurel View Village’s memory care programs: The Arbor and Reflections.
We have two fish tanks on campus. Pictured is the fish tank in our Personal Care Center; the other is in The Arbor.

Completed applications may be submitted to Carol Adams, Director of Admissions and Social Services, in person, emailed to cadams@lvv1.com, or faxed to (814) 288-3636.

Caring for someone with cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson’s, requires a great deal of compassion and commitment. As a licensed memory care facility, Laurel View Village is well-equipped to provide excellent care to patients with cognitive disorders. Our memory care center is dedicated to offering personalized care to all our patients. We understand that neurocognitive disorders affect individuals differently. As a result, we strive to provide customized care that meets the specific needs of each patient and places their health and happiness as our top priority.

Reflections and The Arbor are two secure neighborhoods at Laurel View Village dedicated to providing care 24/7 for those suffering from neurocognitive disorders such as but not limited to dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or a traumatic brain injury. Reflections is part of Personal Care, while The Arbor is an extension of our Health Care Center. Both are safe, cheerful environments with specially trained staff.

At Laurel View Village, we recognize that every person is different and that the symptoms of memory-related diseases vary. We work with families and physicians to tailor individual programs of care to help each resident cope with their memory loss and the overwhelming feelings of confusion, fear, and frustration that usually accompany the disease.

In Reflections and The Arbor, we provide help with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, etc.) combined with restorative therapies scheduled throughout each day. These activities are based on each resident’s preferences. We try to help each resident remain as mobile, alert, and active as possible.

Family visits are encouraged. We understand the demanding schedules of modern families, so we have no restrictions on visiting hours.

Both Reflections and The Arbor both have beautiful outdoor patios/gardens for residents to enjoy in the summer. Seasonal parties, weekly religious services, concerts, choirs, short drives in the countryside, and many more activities are available.
