VISITATION UPDATE: According to the PA Department of Health, a facility may begin to allow visitation if universal testing has concluded, coupled with proper staffing and personal protective equipment (PPE) levels. We promise that when the time is right, we will allow visitation to resume in a manner that is safe for our residents, staff, and family members. We ask for your patience during this time as we work through reopening and the new procedures we have to put in place. Given the critical importance in limiting COVID-19 exposure in nursing homes, decisions on relaxing restrictions will be made with careful review of community-level positive cases, and state and local governing healthcare bodies’ policies, procedures, and recommendations. The amount of positive cases in our community, or our facility along with adequate staffing and access to adequate personal protective equipment and testing will all play vital roles in reintroducing visitation in our facilities.
Visitation will look a little different. When visitation is permissible, Laurel View Village will be scheduling visits in 30-minute increments, with a maximum of two guests present per resident. Masks will be required, along with a temperature check, a screening questionnaire and once approved a wristband. We will also be using social distancing and scheduling visits in outside locations. Please click here for the attached document explaining all the details in visitation and reopening.
Laurel View Village understands the frustration being felt by many of our residents and our residents’ families. We know that all of you are missing each other deeply during this time. We also know that we must do everything possible to keep our residents safe. Our residents are the most vulnerable and most susceptible to the effects of the COVID-19 virus.
Our life enrichment staff has been working hard to make sure residents and families remain connected through virtual visits, phone calls, emails and window visits. These types of connections will remain in place until we can safely open our doors again.
Laurel View Village thanks you for your patience and understanding and doing your part to keep our residents safe and healthy. We know his has been extremely difficult for our residents and their loved ones, so please know that our hearts go out to you. We will continue to provide you with updates with as much information as we can on our efforts to combat COVID-19. On behalf of the entire Laurel View Village team, we want to thank each of you for your continued support and prayers. It means a great deal to us.
