(Last Updated On: September 2, 2022)

September 2, 2022

Dear Residents, Families and Staff,

Please read this COVID-19 update for information on the status of COVID at Laurel View Village.

We have identified a total of 8 Health Care residents and 4 Independent Living residents. We have also continued to identify approximately 2-3 employees per week with the latest one being identified today. The current positive employees have not created any new exposures and have not extended any quarantines for residents.

Please read the information below as to precautions being taken in each area of campus.

Independent Living: We have had four positive Independent Living (IL) residents identified recently, one in Vista and three in the Townhomes. All residents should continue to monitor your symptoms. Please follow isolation guidelines if you are identified as positive. If you have a known exposure, please wear a mask when you are attending events or in common areas. We are requiring staff to continue to wear masks in Independent Living as well. Residents who have no know infections or exposures may choose for themselves what group activities to attend, and whether they want to wear masks at any events. Visitors are allowed at any time.

Health Care: No new residents have been identified as positive this week. Today is the last day of isolation for the latest resident who had been identified as positive. All “Red Zones”, areas with positive residents, will be closed tomorrow. “Yellow Zones”, areas with residents being treated as exposed, will be closed on September 7. After each zone closes, staff will continue to wear the appropriate PPE based on typical guidelines for precautions. Visitors are allowed for any resident. Please read the signage identifying what PPE should be work before entering. Resident outbreak testing is concluded until more positivity is identified, or a significant exposure might occur.

Personal Care: No residents are currently identified as positive or considered exposed. Visitors are allowed for any residents. Please read the signage identifying what PPE should be work before entering.

Staff: Please continue to monitor your symptoms and report any immediately. Testing is currently Tuesdays and Fridays for all employees. Please continue to test before reporting to your workstation. Please pay attention to signage notifying you of what PPE is required for the different areas. Gowns for health care will be discontinued on September 7 if no known exposures or positive residents identified.

We continue to be blessed in that staff and residents have who have been positive recently are only showing mild to moderate symptoms.  We are following all necessary guidance to safeguard our residents, families, and staff. Thank you for your prayers, understanding and cooperation in these matters.

Sincerely,
Timothy V. Mock, CEO
