DATE: November 27, 2020
TO: All Laurel View Village Residents and Families
FROM: Timothy V. Mock, CEO
We were notified on Wednesday, Nov. 26 that a resident of Personal Care was positive for COVID19. This was a new admission that had tested negative originally, the person was still in their 14-day quarantine and has been asymptomatic. This is the good news as there would not have been exposure to other residents and staff would have been in full PPE while providing care.
When we were notified, we began the process of setting up a red zone in the health care center and the individual was transitioned over as soon as possible. We also retested the individual with our rapid tester and that came back negative, however, we still need to treat him as a positive.
Since we now have a red zone, the Department of Health will be required to come in and we all should be prepared for that visit.
- All Personal Care Residents will be tested on Monday, November 30.
- All Health Care Residents will be tested on Saturday, November 28.
- All staff will begin being tested twice per week, each Monday and Thursday. Even if you are scheduled off you must get tested. Hours will be 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Next testing date is Monday, November 30 and Thursday, Dec. 3.
- Most employees’ test results are still pending. Most resident tests were received, other than the positive mentioned above they have all been negative thus far.
We cannot thank you enough for your continued prayers and understanding.
