Dear Residents and Families,

It has been wonderful having everyone here to visit as we have been allowed. It really feels like we have taken a big step towards getting back to “normal”. And yet cases are on the rise and we need to continue to protect everyone as much as we can.

This week we learned that one employee who mainly works in Independent Living is positive and several other employees from around the campus have been exposed. All employees are self-isolating as appropriate for their situation. The only known exposure situations that have happened on our campus involved people who have been vaccinated and were masked during the encounters. We are thankful that our precautions are working and need to continue to remind everyone to practice them while on and off campus.

Additionally, our guidance requires us to look at the county positivity rate and test accordingly. This week the Somerset County rate has climbed to 6.6%, which means we will be testing employees weekly. We tested all employees on April 20 and will continue weekly until guidance should change. We will once again start posting tests results to our website and Facebook page as the results are received.

There are other resident precautions that we are re-introducing for Personal Care and Health Care. Only essential resident appointments will be scheduled. Residents are permitted to leave with family and friends, but we are strongly discouraging restaurant dining or any other activity where masking and distancing can not be strictly followed. Residents who do leave campus will be evaluated based on the risk level of their outing and may need to be tested and/or quarantined upon their return.

For Independent Living we are not changing any restrictions currently. Please continue to follow distancing, masking, and hand sanitation guidelines.

With your help we continue to strive every day to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
